Does the rear exhaust box have a drain hole in it? I have water "leaking" from mine. Not the tail pipe.

 I've a 1.4 dsg Sportline and  there is water dropping from the rear silencer exactly like yours. Perhaps it's designed to drain the silencer. Does it mean that the silencer will rot?  Anybody got an explanation? 

It's not unusual for exhausts have a small drainage hole to let water out.

 

Cold exhausts will also cause condensation which shows as water dribbling out.

It could well be that the condensation draining out will minimise corrosion
