Question on columbus

Featured Replies

Is it possible to code something to ne able to turn off the screen only while listening music/radio ?

Especially at night the light of the  screen is annoying and it has  no purpose 80% of the  time

I’m not sure on coding, but have you tried turning the brightness down, or you could put it on the maps screen and select night mode.

Maybe try this:

- Switch off screen (in 10 seconds) - Enable/disable the automatic power off function

It won't be limited to when you're playing music but might get you closer to what you want.

Speaking of that feature I notice that I have to enable it every time I start the car. Is there any way for the Columbus to remember it?

Exaxtly what i nedded. Thx a lot.

But i conccur with foregonereality, wish there was a way to make it permanent

I am really surprised that you need to enable this function every time you get into the car.  It should be a persistent option.  I would recommend turning down the brightness of the display.  Standard OEM settings are way too high - I have mine set to 40-50% brightness (as opposed to standard 80%), so give this a go first.  Failing that, I would suggest that we bring @pab567 to see whether he can suggest any way of reducing display brightness and making the screen switch off after 10 secs - a persistent setting.

Unfortunately this is not possible :(
