02391 Terminal 30 Reference

Featured Replies

Hello, i have a Golf 1.6 TDI, done a full scan and this is only thing i can think of what makes this fault occur, every so often my steering wheel will go stiff the ABS, Steering Light and TCS light will come on for a split second then disappear, also sometimes it will come on with the ESC light for a few seconds then it will disappear saying error on the mfd, does anybody have any solutions or anybody had a similar problem i was told it’s the steering rack but before i look into that i thought i’d ask here, Thanks

It has come up once or twice on here, the first time it turned out to be because of a missing fuse in the engine bay fusebox. Never heard back from the second poster with the same code.

No idea if a 2012 Golf will have the same fuse arrangement, but worth a look maybe?

Follow the link I posted, read the posts about the missing fuse from about halfway down page 2, see if your fusebox has a fuse in the same position (3) or not.

I can't see the numbers of the fuseholders in the top left there, but if that gap between the yellow 20A and the orange 5A one is F3, put a 5 Amp fuse in there and see if the fault goes away.

Ah, OK, see if that position 3 one is intact/not blown, and that the terminals of it aren't corroded.

It’s just a very intermittent issue had my mechanic check all fuses for any breaks etc all fine one was replaced for the fuse board inside the vehicle a 20 amp fuse code still appears, starting to think this could be a module issue

Check it yourself, it'll take 10 seconds.

Just pull it out with my fingers?

Yes. Hold it up to the light, look at the wire inside that links the two sides, look at the shiny metal contacts.  Post a photo if you're not sure.

Started raining, i’ll keep you updated bud

Make sure it doesn't feel loose as well, the fuseholder should grip it a bit as it goes in or out.

Feels tight pal, couldn’t get it out then it started raining so i just left it, mechanic said he checked all fuses but i’ll just mention it again tomorrow as he’s looking at it

Had people tell me it’s the steering rack, can’t find any issue regarding it online i personally think it’s either a ground issue/fuse problem or something to do with the connection to the control module but can never be certain only fault code is that

Check that neither battery connection is loose (try twisting them by hand).
