Fabia Power Loss

Featured Replies

My 03 reg 1.9TDI has developed an intermitent fault, best described as if the turbo boost has gone. Usually it occurs on light acceleration soon after a cold start, and then continues as long as I keep driving. If I stop & restart, it runs normally again. Happens about once a week, sometimes more frequently.

I'm told there is no fault logged in the memory, so I'm waiting to drive it to Williams Autos with the fault, and leave the engine running for them to check out.

Any suggestions, or anyone else come across this??.

Warranty runs out next month so need to ensure it is sorted.

Cheers

Rob

poss throttle pedal perhaps , or intermittant MAF fault . but i suspect you would get fault codes logged for them faults

Limp mode?

It went wrong again this morning, so staight to the dealer (30 miles with about half power). No faults on a static test, but a fault identified on road test which results in the ECU preventing any turbo boost.

Part on order under warranty, & I will find out exactly what it is that has gone wrong next week

I suspect the MAF, or perhaps a dodgy boost sensor on the way out? If it starts getting more common, get someone / dealer to scan for fault codes which should give a clue as to whats up with car.
