Service done. Need new under engine tray!

Featured Replies

New air filter, new fuel filter, new oil & filter. Pollen filter to do. Went to put under engine tray back on….. 2 of the 3 rear bolts have sheared through the plastic. Any idea on cost for a new tray from the main dealer?

I’ll try washers before I buy a new tray but just wondered on price for new tray. Any sense getting from a dealer over ebay?

Not really, no, as long as all the holes are intact. It'll have scuffs and scrapes, but who's going to see it?

It's worth getting some stainless steel screws and dipping them in grease before you refit them.

Not unless you want the aluminium cross member threads to corrode even more than they do with the standard zinc plated bolts.

Mine are now drilled out and have plastic inserts bonded in place so I can use the same threaded fasteners used for the rest of the undertray, they will never seize again, I can do the whole job with the one Torx bit and wont pick up the wrong fastener from my magnetic tray when working by feel.

Fixed with 15p washers. Thanks for advice
