Does anybody if you can remove the cloth trim that fills the gap between the top of the steering column & dashboard? Mine has a nice fag burn in it from the previous owner & I'd like to replace it if possible.

Yes, pull the trim towards you and it will clip out.

The cloth is just stuck on with some sort of double sided tape to the underside of the top of the steering column housing and therefore will be easy to remove.
