Can anyone help me please!!!!!!

I bought a brand new Fabia 1.2 sport just over 3 weeks ago and it has been in the dealership ever since the next day!!!

First there was a problem with the clutch which they managed to put right, but when the engine is running idle the car makes a really loud and annoying 'tapping/ticking' sound. :(

It has had 3 modifications as specified by skoda, including new tappits and sommit to do with the fuel injector. Instead of making it beter they say the noise is worse!!!

HAVE I BOUGHT A DUD???????

Any ideas most welcome

brummyamy (new memeber):scared:

tell them you want a a replacement car as the one you have bought is not up to the standard you would expect for a brand new car, if they try and scrirm out of it tell them you will have your money back as the car is not up to scratch (trading standards etc...) hope you get it sorted out soon....

Blimey. I'd certainly expect a free service or something as a good will gesture, assuming it gets fixed of course.

You have to give them a chance to fix it. If they can't fix it in a reasonable period of time, or the problem reoccurs soon after, then I would be getting advice from CAB to reject the car.

without wanting to be blasted for my comments, see if the dealer can sort it out first. if it persists then prehaps you could request a new one since it's such a new vehicle?

welcome to briskoda :)

Reject it .....I would suspect they are amazed you haven't done so already

Agreed.

If it's less than a month old and you've had to take it back 3 times already, I'd be pulling the 'reject' card out. Don't forget all the time and inconvenience you've been caused by this car already!

Good luck, it would be easier for you to just get a new car than have to put up with all this bother, IMHO. That's what I'd be aiming for, anyway.

Not only that, your engine doesnt sound too healthy which might not spell good things for the future - if it isn't right at the most important time of it's life (break in period) then the engine might be doing itself damage that might have an impact much later in the car's life (such as some time after your warranty expires)

Got to agree. Hd cars in the past that had 'problems' and they were never right. A lemon is a lemon. Get rid fast - it's not your problem.

I'll put a pic up......when I get the thing back!!!

1.2 Fabias run on 3 cylinders???? maybe not worth having the one cylinder missing!!!

Reject!

A new engine on a brand new car?

They are definately having a laugh there.

I'm sure your replacement will sound as it should do.

Brummyamy, don't let this experience put you off what I believe is one of the best little cars out there!

Stick with the fabia - its a great car despite some teething problems!!

Second time lucky, eh?

Hope they give you a nice big bunch of flowers too!

Bet your uncle feels a bit embarrased though...
