Superb estate MY16, weird memory seat behaviour

Featured Replies

Hi guys and girls, i have an issue i would like to resolve, i have a my16 superb estate, with front electric seats, drivers with memory. I memorised my seat position along with my wifes, and on 3 i have the settings for the seat when i vacuum the car. All fine and dandy, but, i noticed one strange thing, my seat position stored is as low as the seat goes, upon unlocking with my key, and opening the door my seat raises about 1 to 2 centimeters, the strange thing is its not equal amount of raising it does every time. I tried to memorise the seat again multiple times, but no go, each time i open the door it just raises, nothing else is out of sync, just the height, mirrors adjust fine. I have asked my wife if it does the same for her, and it does not, but her seat position is not all the way low.

Also i noticed that once i want to lower it manually, sometimes it lowers all the way, sometimes i need to raise it a bit then lower it for it to go all the way down, is there a way to teach the seat which positions are which, meaning like you need to teach the windows after you discconect the battery..

Thank you all in advance!

Hi,

Do you know if you have 'Easy Entry' function activated? It is to give you more space, when you get in/out.

It may generate some conflicts with seat memory?

Note: I'm not sure of that. I know this function exists and can be activated, but I did not activate it on mine. I'm just guessing and looking for a possible explanation. ;)

I will look through the MIB settings, but i dont recall activating it, could be that, i thought of that as i know Audi has one, where the seat raises a bit, and if you have an electric steering column that raises as well, but what puzzles me is that it never goes back down, and furthermore it does not do it for my wife, so what i am thinking it cant store the lowest position because it does not recognize it, so i was hoping there is a procedure to be done likewise for power windows where you need to teach it the positions!

Mine does it too, I have not found any fix for it. MY17 model. I like to set my seat as low as possible, but it does not store the position, always rises the seat.

Surely there has to be a solution for that, ill try to see if i can get anything on the output tests on VCDS, or if there is some way of teaching the seat what position is what.. Really strange, i thought i was the only one, at least its not uncommon then i guess.

Same here, i have the seat as low as it goes, and the car always seems to be unable to store it that low.

Not sure if it's a senior or something that won't store a position that low.

I'm interested if someone finds a fix though

So i did dig a bit in VCDS, so far i got nothing, i did check my MIB settings, nothing there, so it cant be that.

So for you guys, does it raise the same amount every time? Cause for me its not the exact same every time, and what i also noticed, when i try to lower it back down once i sit, sometimes it will not go all the way down on the first try. Really strange!

I had my system reset in the main dealers when mine was giving trouble

I remember reading a while ago that seat memory will never store at the absolute lowest point. Likewise, it won't at the absolute highest.

Something to do with protecting the mechanism.

It's not just with Skoda - VW models do it too.
