Hi people new on here after some advise

ive got a 16plate octavia with 147000 my mechanic says the piston rings was shot on. The engine so I’ve bought a new engine with 40k on

I’ve dropped this in yesterday change clutch turbo and water pump/belt thing I’ve did 50mile and the engine is boiling any advise people please

You must be a competent mechanic to drop an engine in, so apart from the obvious, thermostat not opening, blocked radiator or airlock in the system, no.

Welcome to the forum.

Please explain.   Is this a petrol or diesel?

Was the 40,000 mile engine from a write off?

Was it without a water pump, or have you fitted a new one or what?  What did you change about the Turbo?

Much more info needed.

Was the 50 mile run in slow moving traffic or open road? Is the fan running?

What indication do you have that it's boiling? Are the hoses hot or cold? At what level is the water in the expansion tank?

Is the heater working, if not, could be pump problem or as e-Roottoot says an airlock

Hi mate the 40k engine has come from a car  write off

my mechanic has fitted a new water pump and belts today but these are aftermarket parts I’ve had a few people tell me that these are not worth a dime

Standing still the car sits at 90

once I start to drive fan kicks in and temp rises as soon as I take foot off accelerator the temp drops
