A/C Problem

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Rather Embarassing problem concerning my Fabia :P

Okay here goes,

My Air conditioning smells of Manure:O Every time I turn it on it's like driving through the countryside. Is it possible some kind of Muck has accumilated where this air is sucked into the car? Can anyone help me solve this problem as It's actually getting rather bad:O

Yes. There's a lot of info on here about that. From memory, some of the suggestions are to leave it switched on all the time, but certainly to run it frequently to change the throughput. It can also be a blockage in the draining pipe for the condensed water IIRC so running it on a longish journey at max cold temperature until the inside is freezing and, after parking, should see drainage water on the ground. I'm sure others will be along to offer proper advice as I know nothing.

I'm really just posting to say that my service garage offer an overhaul for £29.95 so mine's booked in for that, mainly cos I reckon it's about time LOL.

Regards

Mo

Poss bacteria in the system? That can cause stinkage :thumbdwn:

Not sure how to sort it yourself, but to prevent in future always turn off the AC (not the fan though) 5 mins before turning off the car then it prevents moisture build up.
