poor customer service

Featured Replies

hi there,i have an octavia vrs and have a clonking noise coming from the nearside front which can be felt through the steering wheel, either going straight or turning any ideas.also the clutch was replaced 11 months ago by skoda and has covered 7,000 miles andskoda say it is down to me ,surely it must have a years warrenty at least.i went into the dealer with 4 problems glove box rattling, back door handle stiff .clonking on the front and the clutch and did not want to do anything (forest gate)the car still has 4 months warrenty remaining.its now in the hands of customer service.

Sounds like it could be the Anti-Roll-Bar (ARB) drop links need replacing to me, but I wouldnt expect to feel that through the steering.

Take it to a tyre place and have them 'fingerplate balance' your front wheels.

I had the same and loads of places balanced it and i had had new tyres, but the place that took their time and did this properly were great. Grot rid of the problem sharpish :D A very well spent few pounds in my opinion.

Might not be this, but well worth a shot.

thanks for the info chaps i will get it looked at

If you have the car i am thinking of then i dont think that skoda will do anything about the clutch problem due to the car being modified.

I had an ARB problem with my old VRs wich resulted in the ARB, as well as the bushes and linkages being replaced. Everytime the car went over a bump, it squeaked and rettled like hell. I felt it, not through the clutch, but the accelerator

Turned out to be a fracture in the ARB, but all was replaced under warrenty.

Might be worth a check.....
