Car making Groaning/creaking sound on Turning the steering wheel...

Featured Replies

It has been there for a long time now. Whenever I turn the steering at halt (like when coming out of garage/ parking lot), the steering makes this loud metallic groaning sound. seems like something to do with the steering mechanism but i am honestly blank...

The squib slip ring is failing.

thanks for the response...

however, isn't that something related to the steering wheel somewhere in the dash?...the sound however appears to come from somewhere near the  axel i guess....pls tell if that sparks some new ideas...😅😅

Back in 2015 when I bought mine and it was still under warranty it used to make a noise every time I backed down the drive with steering turned and at the same junction with full lock on basically and various other times.

Turned out to be the top strut mount

Strut mount sounds more logical...will get it checked up tho and will let you know!
