I've put an advert in the Wanted section but as I don't get updates from adverts for some technical reason I'm mentioning the need here too.

I can see that at this moment in time you’re not following the discussion thread for your advert.

I'm now further confused.  I'm subscribed to the Wanteds section so I've assumed I should get copied on all posts therein (if everything was working properly).  Is that not so?

Each new ad (by whoever) in the Wanted section will notify you of it’s presence but you also want to see replies to your own Ad.

I have replied to your Ad thread but you still haven’t subscribed to your Ad Discussion thread to which I linked above.

They are different entities.

So @john999boy, if I understand the model correctly, an advert equates to a topic in the rest of the forums and responses to an advert behave as would responses to a topic?

 

If this is so, when I post a normal topic my preferences automatically subscribe me to responses to that topic so why am I not auto-subscribed to responses to an advert I post?

 

The Classifieds section was ‘an extra’ bolt on and is different to what we started with. That’s why there’s different sections in your profile regarding your subscription preferences to each part. I also don’t know if this is why the extra thread is generated or not?

 

Maybe @DeanVRS20VT has an answer?

The topic is merely a duplicate of the advert. I shall look into turning this off as I don't need it necessary.
