Searching screw on Fabia II 1.6 TDI

Featured Replies

Hi,
When I changed my oil filter today, I accidently lost the holding screw of the solenoid valve in my engine.
I would like to know what screw it is so I can order it and put one back on.
The screw is exactly the one that is showed in this video, the one just above where the oil filter is located:

.
I would highly appreciate any help. Thank you very much!

Do you know where you might have lost it? You won't want it floating around inside the oil filters housing, etc! Other then that, I think it will be quite a standard thread, such as M6, M8, etc. The length should not be too much of an issue..

tried to find it in the manual, no luck yet, def looks like M6 x approx 15mm to me.

EDIT  found it......

Part number is N 10170302

It is M6 x 10mm

In the engine bay. It isn't where the oil filter is because it wasn't unscrewed at that time. The screw just slipped through my fingers and fell somewhere in the engine. I tried searching for it but couldn't find it... :crying:

I did the exact same thing, found it tucked away before the sump on the underneath of the manifold 🙄

9 months after.

I have recently "Lost" one of the little plastic clips that hold the under bonnet insulation blanket in place... I got a whole new set as I thought they may be fragile after a decade of being there but keep having a casual glance down there, whenever I raise the bonnet. I presume one day it will make the light of day, if ever the under tray needs to be taken off and it will then be too late but "That's life", as Esther Rantzen used to say.

I just hate the thought of it rattling around somewhere, perhaps making a nuisance of itself on moving parts in the engine bay. At least my loss was only plastic!

It defy never went to street at the time though as I moved the car to look and my street had only just been relaid and was surprisingly debris free so it should have been easy to spot.
