Are these corretcly aligned

image.jpg

Hard to say from that angle, but you wont get a defined 15 degrees up sweep to the n/s its more of an elliptical shape

You dont judge the headlight alignment by being that close to the surface that you are illuminating, assuming that the ground behind is flat and level you mark the beam cut off pattern with chalk and reverse back 5 to 10 metres and compare.

Ideally it will not move or if it does then very slightly downwards and to the left for countries driving on the left, right for right driving countries.

Too close to the wall.......but ur right side beam looks a bit off, a bit swollen compared to the left beam.

Swollen what do you mean by that I don’t know some English words meaning

You can see a clear cutoff shape on the left headlight, a bit like this:

       ______
______/

There is no such clarity on the right headlight. It just looks like a circle of light with no obvious cutout, much like a torch although it could just be down to the picture exposure... :)

I'd suggest you go to a garage with a headlight alignment tool and have it checked. At least in the UK, it's a pretty quick and cheap process.

And how do I mark the area and adjust them

Sorry, I didn't explain that well.

@langers2k explained it perfectly.  Thank u sir.

Take another photo with the car at least 10 metres away from the wall,  all on level ground, and with the camera exposure reduced as the photo above is overblown and you cant see anything meaningful.

What problem do you think you have? Lights too low?

And how are the cornering fogs supposed to be adjusted

Xman yes I can’t see much I have a new headlight in the left after a collision but they are worse

They're not supposed to be adjusted, I'm fairly certain they are fixed.

Are your headlights on? I can hardly see anything.  Maybe they are way too low. How far away from the wall is the car?

  • Author

My headlights are on I’m 10 meters from the wall

Could it be a bad xenon I hope not

Take another photo with the front of the car 5 meters away from the wall.

It says my image is too big

First check your lights do the calibration "dance" on start up, they may be stuck in the down position, a known problem.

Below is a video of what to expect, it show the SLA sequence, but the standard AFS setup is similar.

this is the coding for the lights

and the pictures are for levelling stuff

There are two white nylon adjusters on each headlight adjustable with a 5 or 6mm allen key.

If you have a diagnostic tool (OBD eleven VCDS) you are supposed to place the headlights into basic settings mode.

Then adjust the headlight adjusters, the inner ones adjust up/down and the outer ones left/right. Finally cancel the basic settings mode.

Some members have adjusted their headlights without bothering with the diagnostic tool, although this risks the various AFS/SLA modes to move to the wrong positions.

I'm afraid all that stuff you've posted about coding etc is beyond me.

Should I turn them clockwise or counterclockwise

Look at the wall while you adjust.
