Tyre pressure for Eagle F1s

Featured Replies

Recommendations for the tyre pressure?

I've not checked (yet) post-fitting but my current feeling is that they're below what I'd like them to be at.

Had Sport Contact IIs on the car before at 32psi or 34psi - they appeared to handle far more reliably in cornering (i.e. side wall kept it's shape).

The F1s grip very nicely but when there is weight on them the car just drops in, wallowy style, much like the SC IIs did when the pressure was a tad low.

I know several of you have driven with the F1s on a Fabia vRS, what kinda pressures do you run front & rear please, as I just don't feel confident in the grip during fast cornering now

I've gone the same way with the tryes that you have, had the conti sport contact II's from when the car was new, then changed to F1's.... I run the pressures at the level they show in the fuel cap for a full load (can't remember the values, but I'm sure you can look..)

I found that the F1's corner, and brake better than the conti's, but loose out to them in traction, if you boot it too early in the exit of a bend in with the F1's they break before the conti's do, but you can enter the corners faster! (just wait a little longer before getting back on the power...)

note: make sure you've bedded them in for a good 500 miles before you decide their performance, but let us know if adjusting your pressures makes much difference, as I may try it if you find an improvement

I'll sure by trying them out - nearly done the 500 miles already since I got them fitted on Wednesday

Thanks in the meantime

Little update - looks like the tyre place didnt really do to good a job at having equal pressures  - one side was at 2.2 bar, the other 2.1 bar.

All round now 2.4 bar like I had on the SC IIs, will try that for a bit see how it goes :D
