Fabia problem - jerky acceleration?

Featured Replies

Ok not a vRS or anything, but hopefully someone can give me some pointers!!

My mums 1.4 Fabia has recently started this thing where the acceleration can be a bit jerky if you accelerate in a high gear at low speeds.

It feels a bit like a kangaroo start, say you are in 2nd and accelerate slowely its fine - but if you press the accelerator more to accelerate quicker it jolts forwards in a jerky fashion, just like a kangaroo start.

I wasnt sure if it could maybe be water in the fuel, but I think this is unlikely? Its done 36k, so hasnt had its 40k service where it has new plugs - could this maybe be an issue?

Any advice welcome!!! :)

cheers!

16v? 8v? Diesel?
