Thank you for fast reply  .👍

Light right foot, and think ahead. It will give you better economy regardless of engine option and mileage done.

Right foot always this days 9 points and don’t like rain 👍

I too recommend the 1.6tdi, not the most economical on the motorway imo but country roads etc I average 60-70 mpg most days motorway normally 55 mpg

Ah so simple just buy a 1.6 TDI they say then you start having issues with the DPF around £900 to get sorted then you start having issues with injectors another bottom less pit--- just look for a good used 1.9 TDI with the PD engine 40-50 mpg every day use 60-70 mpg motorway use only known issues sticky turbo vanes from not getting a regular blast out no dpf issues as not fitted does have a cat but they do last many years

What? If he does the right mileage then he shouldn’t really have DPF issue for a while, and £300 gets you a gutted DPF and remap to make the car feel mint again. I don’t think injector failures are that common on 1.6TDIs. Sure they probably do happen a bit more often than they should but shouldn’t be that bad as I’ve not heard any owners have problems in the year I’ve owned one and been on the owners clubs

...Or a nice 1.4 Greenline, in black. No-one here actually asked your budget... If you need a tight budget, reliable car, good MPG, and low insurance, (9 points? Naughty)! that may be a good choice. If you are not in a ULEZ zone, that is as any diesel will cripple you then!
