Headlights adjustment for driving on the right is active

Featured Replies

Hello all.

got small question regarding some headlamps features.

I am the UK resident.

In the vehicle settings my main setting is driving on the left:

however every single time I start my car I see a warning like this:

the manual is completely useless because it mention the travel mode activation, which is not an option.

What I think just happened.

I think they FORGOT to implement one setting in Enyaq: 'travel mode activation'.

Anyone got similar experience?

Just a thought could this need the Light and View Package to be active?

Thats in the standard config in France.

Ahhh a look at the ID.4 manual is helpful.

Switching over headlights for driving abroad (travel mode)

If you have to drive a right-hand drive vehicle in a left-hand drive country, or vice versa, the dipped beam of vehicles with advanced main-beam control or dynamic cornering light may dazzle oncoming traffic → page 107, → page 104. For this reason, the headlight alignment of vehicles with this equipment can be adjusted in the Infotainment system in the Vehicle settings menu (travel mode) → page 31.

Adjustment of the headlights is not necessary on vehicles without advanced main-beam control and without dynamic cornering light. Travel mode may only be used for a short period.

Please contact a qualified workshop for permanent conversion.

Volkswagen recommends using a Volkswagen dealership for this purpose.

lovely, so in Enyaq we can select what is a 'travel mode' for us... BUT we cannot activate/deactivate it... just like I assumed ?

I did not read it that way at all - the headlight adjustment is for short periods only is perhaps why you get the warning. I would not have expected this in a RHD UK model.

Think I would ask dealer to explain it.

Did it come with the Travel Mode set to Left hand drive or did you set it? I don't think you should need to set it, should default to Left and the Travel Mode is meant to override it, that's how I'd expect it to work. However seems odd you set it to Left and the warning says you are set to Right!

I was in the service today.

there is an issue in the UK software. IF you are in the UK, you should have 'driving on the left' in the travel mode, and IGNORE the warning as it is misleading, your lights are still in LHD more.
When you travel to continental Europe, you switch to 'driving on the right' and warning is gone. your lights are in continental settings.

On my Enyaq it is not possible to keep the lights switched to "left hand travel", they are almost permanently in RH travel.

I think it is a known Skoda UK fault which has already been corrected by an OTA update on other models, eg Octavia.

My dealer believes an Enyaq update is imminent - hopefully before the nights draw in.
