Power Steering Pump version

Featured Replies

Hello All!

A few weeks ago the power steering pump let go on my 2002 Fabia 1.4 16v Auto. I have since replaced the car but have kept this for my other half to learn in (wants an auto licence). I also see it as a future classic too ;)

I am sourcing a pump from my local garage to fit myself (swapped a few bits to get it). He said to check if it's the newer type of pump or the older one and to look for the brown plug. I've checked and can't see this plug meaning it's the old style but has anyone else swapped one out on this age of car? It's a 52 plate registered in December 2002?

Cheers

I swapped one out on a 2000 car, TRW, your mechanic is talking about the angle sensor rather than the pump I suspect.

What are the last 6 digits of your VIN?

Actually, don't bother. Only the rack and angle sensor changed during model year 2003, pump is same before/after; as sepulchrave says.
