Brake calipers

Featured Replies

Anyone any idea why on my karoq my front calipers are one at 0900 the other at 1500 and back one at 1100 the other 1300..??

thanks

Probably to reflect the normal (forward) rotation of the disc - clockwise on the offside (RHD) wheels and anti-clockwise on the nearside wheels.

I've never seen that on any make, including VAG makes.

Can we have some photos @Alanphe

Guys… sorry it’s me losing my marbles and confusing the two sides… sorry

Easy to get confused in this hot weather if it takes you 2 hours to walk from one side of the car to the other!

The clock readings you gave were 100% correct for a symettrical set up, trying turning your watch backwards when reading one side of the vehicle.

Both the same just opposite

This is like the question "Do you buy tea cups with the handle on the right or on the left?" :D

That depends upon which side has a motif on and if you're right or left handed and like to show the motif off or just appreciate it. ;)

 Loosen backword & tighten forward.

Refers to fitting bicycle pedals no mater which side of the bike you are facing.

Depends on whether your spanner is at 12 O clock or 6 O clock relative to the pedal shaft:thumbup:.

Skoda should fit theirs (calipers not pedals) in either of those positions to avoid confusing people :D

Talking of brake calipers, does anyones else's suffer with a click of the front pads when going from forward to reverse? so annoying! Dealer said it was a known issue.

?

Was that a drug dealer?

The clicking is a known issue.

Cars with clicky brake pads have it and when they are not clicking the issue is not know

hahaha drug dealer would be more useful!

seriously though, is it a known issue? and surely there must be a revised pad design to cure it?
