Aston Martin DB9 calipers

Featured Replies

Has anyone fitted the Aston Martin DB9 brake calipers  with 18" Gemini wheels? I was wondering what wheel spacers were needed to provide clearance. I'm not a huge fan of spacers so I was hoping to keep the size to a minimum. Thanks.

I don't know the answer but I always question why there is a need to fit large calipers unless you track day the car a lot. The standard 340mm are well upto the task as standard.

Get new wheels or you’ll be after 20mm front spacers to clear the calipers. I needed them that size and it was enough space. This is the downside of Skoda’s weird offsets.

I don't think I'll bother Sasha, it was for track use really but I can manage with the OEM single pots and bluestuff pads. I tried DS2500's but they did not take the abuse too well so back to the bluestuff.

It is for track use. The OEM single pot calipers struggle a bit so you brake for longer and get more heat build-up. For road use, I agree, more than adequate. Well, very good actually.

Look at Vagbremtechnic Dave Brown that runs it knows his stuff about VAG brakes. Still a fair bit that can be done with std calipers (have you tried Project Mu pads?)

Anything with a piston outside the caliper not likely to fit under a standard Skoda wheel. It is not just the offset it is the spoke design too.
