Evening all,

My cambelt is going to need changing soon as I'm rapidly approaching 50k (I know strictly speaking it's a 60k interval, but I'd say I probably drive mine a bit harder than normal so for peace of mind and all that ). Thing is, I'm a bit strapped for cash at the moment so managing to afford main dealer cambelt costs will be tricky - is there any issue with getting this changed by a reputable local garage? With regard to OEM parts etc?

As long as they use OEM parts its all gravy.

And IIRC you cambelt is due at 80k

Ross, could you check this please? I am pretty sure I was told 60k for mine. Mine was registered about April 2002 I think. But that presumeably doesn't mean it was manufactured then. I recall it was about that time the interval changed from 60k to 80k? :confused:

If I remember correctly the interval changed on the Octavia TDi.

I thought all Fabia PD's were 80k, i'll double check tomorrow.

Pretty sure my 2001 PD100 had 60k mile intervals....
