Clean Polo

Featured Replies

Gave her a clean-up today. Just a straight-forward wash and dry this afternoon, after a mammoth 6hr session three weeks ago to get up a decent standard. But I took some pics this time...

The silver comes up really well I think, with less effort, well - after a black Fabia, anything would be easier :D

Just need to sort the wheels now. It's not that they're dirty by the way, but the laquer round the edges is totally shot on all four. A common problem it would seem  Just deciding now whether to refurb, or get another set. Won't be changing wheel sizes, I know that much - the ride and handling are pretty much spot-on as is, so I'm not about to risk upsetting that.

hehehe...

Apart from the wheels, it looks lovely mate! Get yourself a set of G60 Steel wheels to ride around on (the tyres will swap straight onto them and they actually look pretty cool for steels!) while you get the BBS's refurbished. You can do them yourself if you've got the time and inclination... Bstardchild did a how-to on UK-P... Or you can pay a hefty fee to have a pro do them.

Either way, I reckon they are THE right wheels for the car.

Josh - bulbs in a box here mate, I'm just waiting for the monkey to arrive in the post, so I can send him in to change them for me. Could VW have made it any harder?!!

May do the rear wiper but not a big fan of the Aeros on the front TBH. And I don't like the black badges either

And the other two are too expensive at the moment - please leave me alone ;)

Will sort the wheels out soon, it's bugging me. My mate has a Lupo GTi and has just put on his summer BBSes, so I'll pinch his std rims while mine are being sorted.

Steve

nice and clean! What products did you use?

For yesterday - AutoGlym shampoo through a Karcher foam attachment, rinse, then AutoGlym shampoo again applied with a Meg's lambswool mitt (2 bucket method). Bodywork rinsed. Then wheels, arches and sideskirts done with Virosol citrus cleaner. Everything rinsed again, then bodywork dried with Meg's Water Magnet towel. Windows dried with AutoGlym hydrablade.

 - wish I'd never posted pics now ;)

Still no joy with the sale Dave? Seems strange - a case of bad timing really, I would have bought yours if I hadn't seen this one, that was closer to me, sooner :)

How much you got it up for?

Hmmm, seems a fair price - it's done about 70k if I remember rightly? Maybe the market's slowed down slightly? When I bought at the start of April they were shifting fairly quickly from Trader and various online sites.

Maybe have another push? UK-Polos, Edition38, Pistonheads - eBay may even work for you, it did for me :)

Steve

Lovely.

Can't fault the Polo Gti's
