I drive a lot on dark unlit country roads.

 

When I bought my 2021 Kamiq ( Amundsen, Traffic Sign Recognition, Full LED headlights) I forgot to add this 100 euro option.

 

The dealer was evasive when I asked if a retrofit is possible.

 

They said the correct camera is installed but they don't know if they can do it.

 

From my understanding, it is just a matter of software activating it.

 

They did warn me against doing it at a non-authorized dealer as it will void the warranty. 

 

 

What do you guys know about this?

Skoda lock these settings now so you cannot activate like you used to it's so you cannot get them free in vcds settings 

I see, can they do it for a  price maybe?

Uprated mine yesterday using an OBDEleven  Only took 5 mins as there is an instruction for it in the OBDEleven app on the phone

 

Have  also done Scandinavian tailights, DRL's off with handbrake. fitted a Blackvue dashcam  and a few other things.  Need to work out how to get left mirror to dip on reversing

Does OBDEleven will affect the warranty of the car? 

Can thay find out if I was used OBDEleven or another software? I ask as I would like to activate Sign Recognition on our Scala but I am scared to try it as I think they can find out and this maybe can affect the warranty.

 Only if what you have done causes a problem and its attributable to that.

I have done 32 mods on my Tiguan and VW have never said anything when I have taken it in for service over last 2 years so unless they try to find out what the car does thats non standard I dont think the techs would worry.

Also unless something you have done upsets something in the car it shouldnt affect the warranty unless what you have done is the cause  it.  Eg if your taillights flash it wont affect a warranty problem with the engine

I am worried about the warranty as well.

 

I really dislike the dealer in my town and I am 100% sure he will try to wiggle out of any problems with warranty.

 

I am hoping you could help me a bit with OBDleven a bit? I never used it and I am reallt worried about not ****ing anything up.

If you put your locality in your sig it might help get someone closer to where you are to help as I am in Australia and our models are different to other markets  in quite a few ways

Darkace - OBDeleven offers high beam assist for Kamiq via quick apps (I requested this feature with codings and share it in Kamiq adaptation topic).

Depend what type od lights you have (basic LED = halogen, AFL - adaptive front light) you have to choose the right codinds (V1 or V2) and apply the codings.
