Replacement Front Springs for Combi Sportline

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Looks like the front drivers side spring on my 2017 Combi Sportline has snapped near the top.  Couple of questions when it come to replacing it (I'll replace both front springs):

1. Would you recommend replacing the struts at the same time (Car has done approx. 200k miles)?

2. Would you replace the top shock mounts at the same time?

3. Is there any recommended replacement springs?

My thinking is that given the struts have to be taken off to change the springs and that with the car having done 200k miles it might make sense to replace the struts and top mounts at the same time as a preventative measure.  If I replace the struts I'm thinking on going for Koni Special Actives.

What do you think?

Thanks.

and?!

whatever section opened, there is one choice
"Gas Spring, Boot-/Cargo Area"

No there isn't; I've got 7 choices including front or rear coils. Of course I am using a computer and not a "smart" phone...

And then looked for body parts, not vehicle suspension.

Well, from this screen I clicked Body "Vehicle Front" and got suspension springs, not gas struts for the tailgate.

Have a look on autodoc.co.uk to see what aftermarket springs are available for your car.

It can take many years before a good selection of aftermarket springs becomes available for new models.

For example, there isn't a good selection of aftermarket springs for the Superb MK3 2.0TSI 220HP, in which case OEM springs may be needed.
