Skoda Octavia mk3 2014 VRS 2.0 TDI AC not working

Featured Replies

Hi all. May I pick any VCDS experienced members brains please. The ac doesn't work on my car. The fusses are ok, compressor replaced, gas replaced. The ac doesn't blow cold. I scanned with VCDS full version and noticed three items that pop up. However having searched many other scans online, the scan pops up with items that do not have any associated fault codes, which normally are indicated on other scans I have seen.  Also, the DTC will not clear.
I was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me what they mean as they don't come up as faults. Any help would be very much appreciated. I don't do much with the VCDS and my experience is very limited.

Thank you very much

Jon

Hi all... just an update to my question... any suggestions or anything someone had similar to suggest why my VCDS test shows these three faults without codes would be much appreciated

cheers

There are no fault codes shown in your picture...

There is a similar car here which shows the exact same output for the HVAC: https://forums.ross-tech.com/index.php?threads/17803/#post-158094

Thank you very much for your reply.
I have read the forum thread, although they are talking about a different issue, I am thinking they could be related. As these three items are mentioned in both their scan and mine, maybe there is a battery issue with my car. I can't see the reason why these three items pop up in the scan, maybe parts of module the scan couldn't access, or not functional.

Thanks again

Assuming your VCDS is genuine, it might be worth asking Rosstech 👍

Thanks... yes it's genuine. It's worth the cost, as a non genuine could cause more damage.

I will send an e-mail to them, they should know.

I would be looking in two areas:

1) Check the Cabin Air Filter (5 min job) to make sure it isn't plugged and blocked up

2) Your fan (located in the centre consule) maybe slowly failing - they do this and that will trigger up that fault too.

Thank you very much for your help, I will take a look at it

You say you have replaced the compressor and re-filled the gas. Was this done with the aim of fixing the system but it's still broken?

If so, take it to a reputable firm who will properly diagnose the problem and save you more £££ in the long run.

Thank you for your message

The ac specialist replaced the compressor and refilled the gas. Then was stumped to diagnose why it didn't work after that,  but the Compressor was faulty. Ac, It's still broken yes...

I think it's best to take it to Skoda main garage and let them have the car. I agree, going down the road if replacing components which are not broken will get expensive.

Initially a visual check of connections, filters and fuses were carried out... but then it's a matter of leaving it to experts... It's always best to know your limits with systems, or can be dangerous.

cheers
