Full Skoda Enyaq review after 4500miles (or 7200 km).

I agree with most of your review, though I don't have an issue closing the boot so don't think I would spend the extra getting a powered version. The HUD is fabulous and I am glad I added that. I use ABRP and EV Notify to display the battery percentage on the screen. I'm getting 3.8 m/kWh on the motorway so the GOM is showing 220 miles, on more local trips I am getting 240 miles between recharges. This is better than I was able to get in my Tesla so I am very pleased.

The one thing you didn't mention was the amazing turning circle. I was at a set of traffic lights when we realised my son left something behind...no problem, a quick U  turn around the traffic island with the lights and we were pointing in the opposite direction. This was at a junction on a single carriageway road, only one lane to my right beynd the tarffic island. It turns like a London taxi!

Easily the best car I have ever owned.

For those of you using EV Notify, which ODB Dongle are you using?

@wr0na, a really frank and interesting review both from the perspective of the use of an EV for long distance travel and the way it was conducted.

I'm presuming you were operating roughly in the 20% to 80% battery capacity range to maximise charge rate and minimise time spent at the stop so I'm estimating with your 1:10h at nominal 160kph motorway driving speeds you were maybe getting between 150 to 180km between charges?

Roughly how many times and how long did you have to wait for an available charge station?

We are in the very early stages of EV adoption here in Australia and the choice of EV are limited, numbers on the road are low but growing, and the recharging infrastructure very patchy in some areas so your experience gives some idea of what's to come and potential issues.

I think it is going to be about 5 years before the sort of affordable vehicle I want is available here and an infrastructure in place to support it. Or I get a PHEV?

Did Porsgrunn, Norway to Eindhoven, the Netherlands in our Enyaq a few weeks ago . Total 2.360 km. Never again. Done basically the same trip in our previous Superbs, TDi 170, Petrol 280 and iV Hybrid. all good, but not in the Enyaq.

Immediately realised that anything above 110km/h was a stillborn proposition as it would drain the battery too fast. That speed at the Autobahn is murder by boredom.

Everything else well and good, except for  the lack of fast chargers. That is until we were closing on the town of Flensburg in Germany, close to the Danish border. We had entered an adress there into the GPS, but before we arrived, it froze, solid. And not just the GPS, the radio, ventilation, everything. And worst of all, when we continued the journey, the GPS insisted tat we should return to Flensburg. At every damned intersection the car would slow down, start turning the steering wheel and insist the that we went left. For the rest of the trip, EVERY damned intersection, tried resetting the thing, ignition on/off, no luck. That was one long trip home.

Appointment at dealer on the 27th for new parts.

Thank you for an entertaining review.

I have only driven 2000km with my Enyaq 80, but I cannot agree more: 😃

Just annoying - but what a lovely car!

Sorry to hear about your issues but it is necessary they are shared.

I find your story quite disturbing at several levels.

When technology works it can be great and I can understand it can fail, but when it actually fights against you and cannot just be turned off or rebooted.....
