Can you replace MIB3 software with MIB2’s?

Featured Replies

I’ve just about had enough of the atrocious MIB3 software and its horrible sat nav interface and numerous bugs. Does anyone know if it’s possible to install the MIB2 software on the MIB3? I expect not, as my suspicion is the hardware is not the same.

I would be amazed if it was possible, the hardware will be quite different...

You'll also have the issue that the other modules in the car probably won't work properly with the MIB2 headunit either :)

Thanks that’s what I thought, but thought it worth enquiring about.

It’s looks like our Kodiaq ownership days will be coming to end. I’ve already placed an order elsewhere to replace mine and the wife hates the replacement Kodiaq she got back in November.

With some of the places we go to we can’t rely on a mobile signal to use Google maps etc.

With google maps you can download sections of map for offline use. On your phone:

- start google maps

- click your profile picture (top right)

- click offline maps

- select map/area and download it

Instructions might be slightly different depending what phone you have: https://support.google.com/maps/answer/6291838?hl=en-GB&co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid&oco=0

Obviously you won't get live traffic without mobile signal but it should still work as a satnav with search/navigation

Good suggestion, but with out frequent trips to western Ireland and us stopping off, for the off tracks exploring, it’s a lot of stuff to download to cover all the poor coverage areas in Wales and Ireland
