E10 fuel on older models

Featured Replies

FABIA CLASSIC 1.2 HTP 54

So thats the model I own. Most places dont mention it as being non compatible with the E10 fuel, so i assume that means I can use the new E10 in it.

but then I see this advice apparently from the RAC

any ideas?

Yes it'll be fine, only the ancient clattering lump in the Felicia is not compatible, Jesus, will someone pin a notice to the forehead of the notice board because this is the umpteenth time this week and it's only gonna get worse!

Sorry pal. It would just be a kind of an expensive mistake to make and being new im a bit crap at the search as I could only find articles for some large engine (2.0 litre i think it was)  fabia regarding the E10 fuel. And yeah I do suspect this will become a main topic for quite some time as the GOV websites says the felicia "and some older models".....which kinda of could mean anything.

That article was published 18 months ago. I think we'd have heard a lot more about it in this sub-forum if the Mk1 Fabia was indeed so affected.  I suspect an error in the article.

The thread about this issue in the General Automotive Chat section is where mods are redirecting a lot of these flapping threads:
