Skoda Superb MY22 - Audio query

Featured Replies

Afternoon all,

I'm on the verge of ordering A Superb Hatch as a new company vehicle - Having had a demo vehicle for a few days I am very impressed with comfort levels and the fuel economy for such a big car (67MPH on a 230mile run) My only gripe is the audio quality.

Unfortunately not able to spec the Canton audio upgrade but after reading up on this pack it seems like it might actually not be worth the money anyway.

I was wondering if anyone has yet to install an under seat sub as I find this is the main thing they lack and if it's possible yet with compatible conversion harnesses and so on?

I am not entirely sure how the new 2021 models compare to the 2015/2016 as I've seen a few options for the slightly older models.

Spending 35,000 miles a year in a car with poor audio doesn't sound like fun so if anyone has had luck with a audio solution or knows if it's possible at all, I'd love to hear from you!

Coming from a V60 which has (In my opinion) the best standard audio set up I've heard from a car.

Thanks, Josh.

We haven’t got to that discussion yet.

Im assuming it’ll be 2-4 months with current wait times but I’m sure it could be longer due to the chip shortage. Do you have any information on lead times at all?

@Chebs

No real information, just the various delivery threads of members that have already ordered several months ago and are being told dates like February, March & even April 2022.

Maybe they will gets lots of chips in and complete the vehicles bunkered which must of reached 55,000 when they stopped production for a week,

then it could be full steam ahead on the production line, or maybe not.

I've got a 2016 SE-L model WITHOUT the canton upgrade and I've no complaints with the audio quality.

I've had an octy vRS with the canton speakers and really can't tell much difference between that and my current car; granted they've not been compared side by side but the bass is deep enough in my superb without needing an additional sub.

For reference, I listen to a lot of heavy metal/rock type of music, so lots of guitars and drums blasting away and my equaliser settings aren't heavily adjusted to give me the sound that I like.

What was it about the sound that you didn't like? Just the level of bass?

It's the roll off, just seems to loose it in technical songs - I'm maybe just being a little picky with it!

Thanks for bringing this to my attention! I was hoping Skoda would have avoided this but after going on their website today, I see they now have a pop up stating their is a delay to new vehicles!

I will come back to this once ordered (99% I will be ordering one) and let you know the "estimated" delivery time!

35k a year, do you have any time to do work or just drive from A-Z all day? 😄.

How did you listen to the music? If through Bluetooth make sure the option for Bluetooth loud is enabled, made such a massive difference for me in my car and no complaints with standard speakers.

My style of music is various sub genres of metal though which is heavy and dirty sounding haha

I cover multiple sites and they're all at least 65 miles from where I live - I drive more than I work :D

Order is in, Will chase for an update on ETA once I get confirmation it's done - Will update one of the "ETA" posts once I hear back! Hopefully allows me a few more months in my V60!
