Line out on Stream HU?

Featured Replies

I was pleasantly surprised by the audio quality of the Stream HU in my new octy so rather than replace the whole thing I was considering just adding an amp and sub and a Parrot Bluetooth car kit.

Is it possible to get a line out from the Stream?

In theory there should be a line out available on the stream connector however i have been unable to identify the connections so far. I need a fellow Briskodian to take a photo of the connections on the rear of an audience HU for reference but i've had no luck so far.

I just ordered an Octavia II with the Stream HU and have a nice amp setup from the previous car (Octavia I) that I would really like to use... I'm pretty certain that the old Symphony (which I replaced anyway) had 5 pins for line out (4 + ground), I can't think of a reason to ommit this in the Stream... I've searched for documentation and neither my dealer or I could find the pinout of Stream's connector.

Are you sure the Audience is the same HU with just the amp added? If yes, it obviously has line out, it would be stupid to use speaker level input as input for the amp...

Hope someone has information, I'd really like to keep the Stream, it should sound OK if I could bypass its pathetic 4x20 amp :)

I don't think your dealer tried very hard for you then. The techs would have had the info.

The audience isn't the same as the stream.

The audience hu has quiet a few differences to the stream, they look simillar but thats it. The audience does not need the extra amp / speakers. Mine was fitted at the factory and runs through the normal 8 speakers using the HU amp.

The audience has the 6 disk changer built into the hu, and can play 6 cds of mp3 music unlike the stream mp3 which is limited to 1.
