New Scala option question - is Blind Spot monitor a good choice?

Featured Replies

My first post on the Scala forum! I have a 2019 Fabia hatch 110PS auto. I find the boot a bit small, especially when going on holiday. I think the Scala might suit me and I am looking at options. The one I am unsure about is the Blind Spot monitor. Does it work well? Is it worth having?

I think I’ll go for the SE model to keep infotainment/air con straightforward.

On my wifes Scala we bought that option. It works perfectly. It is a very good integrated with the lane assist. If blind spot detect a car even if you put your signal to change lane the steering wheel will not allow you to move to the other lane. It could be annoying sometimes because I see that I have space to go to the other lane but for my wife which is unsure about the room that she have from the other car is perfect. This is really nice that they made them to work together. On of the best options that we bought.

I don't have it on my Scala but we do have it on our A3. Definitely a useful bit of kit.

Thanks for that Wiegott - sounds good! Can I clarify one thing? If you switch off Lane Assist (as I intend to do) does the Blind Spot Monitor still work okay? You seem to suggest they work together to stop you changing lanes if there is a car coming up too close behind? I just want the light to flash on the rear wing mirror if there is a car coming into my blind spot.
Thanks.

Yes, it still works. Its two different systems so they are made to work separate but it is great that they work even better combined together.

If you can have blind spot assist - don’t skip it!

I would have loved this option, I wonder if it can be retro fitted...

Crikey!
