stop/start button on 2021 models

Featured Replies

Thinking on ordering a new superb from drivethedeal,  can someone with a 2021 model superb tell me if there's an A off button for deactivating the stop /start or is it buried deep in the menu's  😂

Had a look at interior photos but cant see any A off button on the console,

i've always just coded stop /start out, but i know coding cant be done on the latest models, however if there's a proper stop /start button , i could use one of those modules from ebay  that remembers the last setting.

if i cant get s/s permanently off, i might have to look elsewhere for a car  😂

Yes there is a button it has an A in a circle and a stroke through  it and you buy the cable from AliExpress for about   $35 US

i've had another look at  interior photos and i think i must have been looking at the iv models as they dont seem to have an A off button, but when i look at petrol or diesel models the button is on the right hand side of the console.

If it helps mate, I thought stop/start would be the biggest pain ever from the forums I'd read while awaiting my Superb.

I can legitimately say that for at least the 2021 DSG you would not even know it is there.

I have not switched it off even once in the three months since I took delivery.

There is no lag between pressing the gas pedal to moving off, and if you have a car in front of you it starts itself as soon as they move off.

It honestly is nothing to worry about, if it is lag etc causing you any concern.

The stop start on off button on our sportline plus re sets to a default operating once you turn the ignition off!, not what i expected, I wrongly assumed it would stay permantly off, my reason being I do not want my engine turned off when it has been working hard such as towing as it is always reccomended to idle an engine for a miniute or so to make sure the turbo is cooled/lubricated with the hope of its going to last a long time.

I don't like big brother controlling my purchase.

i've had a few vag cars and i always coded it off,  my  caddy van with dsg is also turned off, i just cant get used to it.

sometimes you stop for a second and the engine cuts out, a second later its time to go, so engine starts, but you've saved nothing in fuel and put unnecessary wear on the starter/ battery etc

yea, the unnecessary wear on engine etc is a concern,  at least the superb has a proper stop/start button so you have something to alter.

the latest octavia does'nt have a button for stop/start, it's buried deep in the menus, so no chance of doing anything,

the next superb in 2023 will almost certainly be button less stop/start  😂
