Good evening all... I hope everyone is well.

Well I recently had the good fortune of stumbling across the magnificence that is the Skoda Superb!

Up until last month I owned a 2007 Land Rover Freelander 2. It was a good old beast however it had a recent £1k power steering fix.. and failed it's MOT miserably last month. It needed a rear subframe, and my mechanic said that the suspension arms wouldn't (probably) survive that.  All in all I was looking at a £2k bill... to follow on from the thou spent on the steering.. and I decided to bail.  A famous website out there offered me more than I would expect by buying my 'any car'... and I took the money and ran.

My garage / mechanic always sings the praises of Skoda.. so I asked him what would be good. He said Octavia / similar... on a 2l diesel.. and that they are GREAT cars.

So off I went into the abyss... on my search.

I wasn't aware of the Superb... but saw one 65 miles from home... and the seller / garage had a video of it too. 2015. 2.0 TDI SE. in PRISTINE condition. I took my good lady wife's car over and test drove this beauty... and fell in love. I left a deposit there and then (after asking my mechanic over the phone if the Superb is also great). He confirmed YES.. and so I nailed it.

The garage gave it a full service, refurbed any scuffs on the alloys, and gave her a complete make over (not that it needed it). It has ONE private owner from new.. and is immaculate.

Get this: it even has some of the PEELS left in place from when it was new. The interior is like a brand new car. Full service history... three MOT passes without a single advisory... a real beauty. It has 74k on the clock... and is good for a long, long career with me with some nurturing.

It's in a beautiful petrol blue... and truly is immaculate. And LARGE!

I took it down to my mechanic.. who is in his 50's and is no fool... and tells it how it is. He was drooling all over it for half an hour or more... and raving about every aspect of it... from the colour to the condition to how beautiful it was. He owns a lovely BMW and literally said : "I would HAVE that car!!!"

Thirty quid a year also for a 2l diesel... like... whaaaaat.

Yes... I am smitten. There were other Octavia / Superbs out there with higher mileage at higher prices... I really feel that this was a great car at a great price. :)

I will add pictures to this thread of it when I get chance / time.

Thanks for reading and lovely to meet you all.

Kindest regards,

Greg and his Superb
