Installing Sat Nav in a model without sat nav

Featured Replies

My Dad recently bought a Skoda Karoq SUV from 2017. It came without sat nav software installed on the infotainment system but there is of course a screen with a button saying sat nav. Is it possible to install the software/firmware even though he didn't purchase it as part of the package or is there something fundamental missing in Karoq SUVs, e.g enough memory, that come without sat nav?

Thanks

I would have thought it lacks the necessary (GPS) hardware. Does it have Android Auto? If so, connect a phone and use Google Maps. It's better than a factory fitted satnav.

Depends on what unit is fitted. If it is the Amundsen then it should have been supplied with a SD card with map data installed.

If it’s a recent purchase go back and ask for SD card that’s been removed.
