Looking for my Kodiaq

Featured Replies

Hey guys, first time on this section, im a proud owner of an MK3 Superb Estate, and i am on the lookout for a Kodiaq.

So i do have a few questions as follows, if anyone has some spare time to answer! I do thank you in advance for spending time on my probably stupid questions, but im not so familiar with Kodiaq.

So, i am from Croatia, and the number of used Kodiaqs here is low to none, so im on the lookout for one in Austria/Germany and closer EU countries. I would love to pick up an RS, either petrol, or diesel, the number of seats is not of importance.. What is, i do want all the assist systems, i do want heated front and rear seats, would love to have front memory seats, both.

As well as aux heating, front heated glass, and mirrors, and if i can snatch one with winter package, its a plus..

So on to the questions, i found a few, mostly having all of the above, but i see a variety, some have the digital dash (digital cockpit) but with older style steering wheel, do those Kodiaqs come with LED lights or are they xenon lights?

As well they dont have the lettering on the bonnet, like others i found do, and they come with a newer style steering wheel, im presuming those are restyle models? Which year were those introduced?

Do all kodiaqs that do have LED front lights have the smart light assistant?

Do all kodiaqs come with DCC and drive profiles?

Do all kodiaqs RS have the sound generator or was that an optional extra?

I am indeed sorry for spitting out so many questions, but im kinda confused with the diversity of cars out there!

Thank you in advance!

That's quite a large shopping list... and I would guess the chances of finding one with all those options is probably quite low.

To try and answer some of your questions...

Kodiaqs have always had full LED headlights on higher-spec variants. As far as I know, none have ever used Xenon headlights. I think more variants have LED headlights now - with the higher-spec ones having full-matrix LED.

The petrol RS has only been around since July this year - highly unlikely that you will find a used one for sale as deliveries of them are only just starting now.

The virtual cockpit came in a couple of years ago - but I'm pretty sure the steering wheel only changed with the facelift this year.

I think drive profiles have been standard on all models in the UK, no idea about other markets. DCC is an optional extra on everything (again, in the UK) except the new RS (and maybe the old RS too, no idea about that).

The sound generator - love it or hate it - is a standard thing on the RS.

Hope that helps!

Thank you for your time, and your response..

Actually i have a few that match all of the criteria mentioned above, not so hard to find in Germany.. I will link them down below for refference..

As for the LED lights, thank you for the answer, i thought i seen one for sale which didnt have LEDs but i might be wrong. Thank you for clarifying when the redesign came in, i was confused about it, as well as the engine options..

I get it now, regarding sound generator, i would like to not have that, but oh well, if its a standard then let it be :)

This one for example has all that i mentioned, as well as ventilated seats, has DCC, has all of the gimmicks i want, webasto, heated front windscreen.. I would say its pergect, but the color is not my first choice, i would love the gray..

This is the color i would love to get, but regarding this one, not sure if it has both memory front seats, and does not mention anything about matrix, just says it has HBA, but one would thought if they are LED then surely its matrix, or not?

This one is brand new, sadly only one picture, but also is tempting..

To skip to the point, i still have about a 2 weeks time before i get paid for a job, so no buying untill then, but i would love to prepare, and pick up my perfect Kodiaq, to keep my Superb happy ;)

As you have probably noticed - the first two are the pre-facelift diesel RS. They both have LED headlights as that was standard, but not matrix LED as that is only available on the new facelift models. The last one is a new facelift petrol RS - really surprised to see one advertised to be honest! As it still has the transport protection on, I can only guess the dealer ordered it for stock or it is a cancelled customer order.

For me, there is no choice - the new one is the way to go if you can afford it.

I see that@Yogi-Bearhas ably answered your questions. I just wanted to add that, while the facelift only happened this year (Model Year 22), the change of steering wheel and the addition of the Skoda lettering on the rear were both introduced last year (MY21).

Thank you all for the answers, besides looking at the data of an advert, how can i tell apart the pre facelift and the facelift Kodiaq, if both have lettering on the rear, and newer style steering wheel, and digital cockpit?

I will try and strech my funds (ask wifey for more) cause she will be getting the Superb, and ill get myself a Kodiaq :D

Look at the adverts you mentioned. The most obvious differences are at the front - the thinner headlights and angular grill. The rear lights are also a slightly different shape, but that's not quite so obvious.

I would be very surprised if you come across any used facelift cars yet - it simply hasn't been around long enough, even for dealers to be selling demonstrators.

Oh, and I don't know what the usual price is on the continent... but €60k for that new facelift one (3rd advert) sounds very expensive compared to what I paid for mine.

Thank you, i will look more carefully and hopefully ill get the grasp without looking at the manafacture date :D

Well, not sure about the price, it seems to only go up, cause no new cars being delivered, and a massive backlog, so i will be happy to get any used/showroom cars..

But there seem to be a few facelifts for sale, with like 10 or 50 kilometeres on the clock, meaning show room cars!
