Door and alarm

Featured Replies

Hi everyone

My name is Rob, im new on here and I have a problem either my Roomster 2009. When I set the alarm it goes off and unlocked the drivers door straight away. I cant put the alarm on or lock the door with the key even or the alarm will go off. All the other doors locks its just the drivers door. I'm having to leave it unlocked all the time. Some people say its the battery in the alarm some say the actuator switch in the drivers door. Now I've looked on the net but no one has the same problem really.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Rob and welcome to the Forum.  The first (and easiest) thing to check is for broken wires in the loom between driver's door and A pillar.  This is a known problem on Roomsters (and certain other models) and is the main cause of apparently unrelated electrical issues similar to yours.  Do a search on here for broken door loom.  The plastic shroud that protects the loom can be pulled back very easily for inspection of the wires.  Good luck 🤞

Edit: I'll ask the Mods to move your post to the Roomster owners' section, where it will get more attention.

Thanks i will be trying this first

We had a similar problem with my daughter's FII. Her car had the problem in the passenger door. I left a thread on the Fabia forum part.

You can take the door lock apart and swap too little micro switches around. The micro switches get worn out over time. You can swap them because the two use oposing contacts inside.

Or you get a new lock off ebay or from elsewhere.
