Octavia II Intake Manifold Actuator

Featured Replies

Hi all...I'm getting a P2015 code on my 2009 Octavia VRS, I've tried the repair bracket for the angle and it hasn't worked. The actuator arm doesn't move when I rev the engine. If I pull it forward with the engine running, it stays in that position. If I turn the engine off the arm goes through a full range "check" then shuts. I checked the pinouts and get 5v between pins 1 and 3, 4.3v between 4 and 5 but nothing between 2 and 3 when apparently there should be 5v. I'm a bit stuck why it's not working when it seems to move when pulled forward. Any help gratefully received ! thanks !

Welcome.

Your question has been missed here.

A mod can move it to the Octavia Section.

It could be the position sensor. But vag won't sell you a separate one anyway. Limited success with sub replacement parts on these forums but in theory it should be possible.

Where is you r source information  on the pinouts from? Remember the sensor does not do the moving it merely reports the position the flap runners are at. So the engine may still do a movement check but the reported position is not as expected so eml reported and ecu refuses to activate the runner flaps in operation. I've not experienced this myself but just reading and working through the post you've made...

Hi!.. thanks for that...and your right I did forget it just does the reporting and not the moving !.. I bought a new V157 actuator and swapped over my "dieselgeek bracket".. and the P2015 code went away for about three tries then came back. Turns out the old actuator was broken as it had no movement at all. At least the new one moves with engine revs and does a "full sweep" when you turn the engine off so that's a win!..now I'm wondering if as it's a new actuator, remove the P2015 bracket and see what hapoens! I'll update when I've tried it...cheers !

@TheClient thanks to you I've done it !!...... you reminded me the V157 only reports what the flaps are doing. I bought a new V157 actuator and like a fool also put on the "dieselgeeks P2015 bracket". Once I thought about it I shouldn't have done ! Took the bracket off, reset the codes and it's gone !!... no more P2015 code ! thanks again for your help...
