Anti siphon device 2017 Octavia

Featured Replies

Please does anyone know how to fill the diesel tank using a fuel can rather than a filling station pump ?

The car's anti siphon device in the filler neck prevents this. Is there a funnel or adapter for this ? Rang my local Skoda dealer - they were clueless. Same at Skoda UK.

So I have 35 litres of diesel drained from my scrapped Mondeo that I cannot use - help !

Isn't it working if you fill the diesel slowly with a regular funnel? I do add small amount of additives which means that there are some gaps in these anti siphon devices. So try with small amount of diesel, let's say 1/2 litre and try to fill it really slow and see is it leaking or not. Of course, prepare some towels.

Thanks. Not tried that method but as I have 35 litres of diesel to put in, I think it would be a very tedious process 🙁

The adapter on Amazon looks as though it would do the job but it is out of stock unfortunately

Googling this problem

Googling this problem, other car makers like BMW & Ford seem have their own adaptors. As the fuel nozzle at the pump is a standard size I don't see why these wouldn't work.

I kept the adaptor spout from my previous car, a MK3 Focus and its fits into my Octavia filler neck no problem.

I bought a Ford one off ebay for my Vrs and it works perfectly. Also if you get a 500ml bottle of Millers Diesel Ecomax it has a black sleeve that let's you put it in, you could easily take it off the bottle and connect a funnel to it
