Fuse box access

Featured Replies

Has anyone accessed the fusebox on the UK (RHD) Enyaq? I wish to do so, in order to hardwire in a dashcam power supply. But on the RHD model the fusebox is behind the glove box and manual tells you to loosen the glovebox smooth motion lever. But when pulling on it, it feels it will snap off before 'loosening'. Don't want to break an item on a car a few days old!

Have a look at it, it’s not as complicated as the manual makes out. The fuse box cover can be removed easily without doing anything to the glovebox.

Quite right, in fact there is no need to follow the complicated instructions in the manual. Managed to wire in the dashcam using a jumper for fuse 36 (rear wiper) and the ground connected to a metal part of the fuse box bracket. Nice and easy.

If you follow the 'smooth motion lever' to where it meats the glovebox door, you can push where it meets the door down towards where the hinge is and it will come free. You then move it out to the left away from the door to free it. To get the door down, you need to reach in the sides and find the tabs and push them away from the box on each side.

I recently picked up a 2025 85x h had the same issue.

To release the glove box;

Press down on the outer end of the restraining damper with 1 finger, it will move down about 10mm, it's then possible to lift it sideways out of the larger hole now exposed.

You don't need to push very hard.

(Ignore anything that talks about unhooking the top, that's for much earlier models).

The top restraining hooks release by pressing each side in, you may need both hands, it's quite stiff but you can see them. If you only want access to the space behind the glovebox, that's all you need to do.

I'll try to get some photos tomorrow. To show the damper removal.

Be aware that disconnecting the passenger airbag switch in the dash side panel causes an airbag error that doesn't go away!

So I need to get the dealer to sort that for me before I fit the dashcam now! (I ran out of daylight today!)
