Hi guys just wanted to know how long does the antifreeze coolant last in the Skoda from the factory as I understand it these antifreeze coolant can last a few years just thought that ask and should I get a antifreeze tester as well

YES!

It is best to just to test it as replace when it starts to degrade.

In most cases cars with a traditional timing belt/water pump set up will be having it changed inline with the pump interval, so roughly five years.

Most coolant products have a 5 year life span advertised these days, It is only the older blue stuff that is 2 years.

Thanks that does help so change the water pump after 5 years and timing belt and all the rest of it is there a mileage restriction on it

A newbie question, what is the tester look like? Is it a tool or just a chemical thingy? Mine is very unlikely that had been changed from the new as the water pump is on the other side of the engine. So, I want to test the coolant if possible and see if it is really needed to be changed, otherwise I don't want to get it changed and create other potential issues

It's a specific gravity tester; exactly what it looks like depends on your budget.
