Aye. That rubber is useless

I was in a local dealer this morning - no news there, but it is enevitable that it will arrive and follow the success of the Fabia vRS.

I asked about it on monday and they just shrugged.

Not as helpful as they once where my dealer...

So, anyone care to speculate what will be faster? the petrol or diesel VRs?

I can forsee a whole new string of arguments poping up in threads all over briskoda (i.e. 'yeah but the Diesel has more torque'.....etc etc)

I think the petrol will handle better due to less weight up front so should understeer a bit less.

There could also be a wealth of 'upgrade' parts with the official skoda logo on them for the petrol version, for example, the diesel will no doubt have stiffer anti roll bars to take the extra weight into account!!

I'd speculate that a diesel one will be slightly slower from a standing start, but up and running, will be a more than formidable "opponent".

A remapped one will be awesome.

Lets put it this way, my mapped Fabia is only 1.15 seconds slower to 60 mph than my stage 2 Octavia. After that it's game over though :D Octavia is a good 1.5 seconds quicker over a standing 1/4 mile (estimated).

A mapped PD Vrs will be knocking out maybe 240bhp? and lots of torques.

On a road situation, I bet there won' be alot in it, except maybe 20mpg

:D

sorry got me vRS's mixed up :o:D

Was just gonna say - once that turbo kicks in at higher revs you should be able to just drive off :D

For a diesel to keep up you'd need a 'larger number here' gear box, and they aren't economical

Must admit although the diesel vRS may be a great purchase, I'd like to try out the difference between a sport version & the vRS version (diesels on both) to see how much tweaking can be done to both for performance reasons ;)
