Need help diagnosing this springy noise coming from my steering wheel, video inside. Octavia mk2 facelift MY2011

Featured Replies

Hello everyone. I've been hearing this noise when turning the steering wheel at low speeds and fully stopped, mostly when the steering wheel is at 180 degrees. I fell into a huge pothole right before it started as I never had it before. It doesn't affect the driving in any way, it just disturbs me and would like to get it fixed.

Please watch below the attached video. Anyone got any ideas?

It's the clock spring or also referred to as a  slip ring.

If it's the sound that occurs 6 times it may well be the clock spring in the steering wheel, if it's the deeper crunch at 5 second mark you may have a broken suspension spring.

Does the clock spring need replacement? Or could it be fixed? I googled around a bit but couldn't understand much of it
