Strange Satnav fault

Featured Replies

I am used to there being a range of intermittent issues with this car's software that clear themselves with a restart or a reboot etc, but today I had a new one and I wonder if anyone else has experienced it.

Although I mostly use Android Auto's satnav due to its superior recognition of addresses, both typed and spoken, today I used the built-in Skoda SatNav.

At the same time I was playing music from my Android Phone, which plays seamlessly via the built-in Media function on via Android Auto.

Anyway the SatNav functioned ok EXCEPT that there was no map on the centre console. The map DID display in the main screen behind the steering wheel.

The rest of the SatNav functioned perfectly: the voice announcements, the HUD display, the various UI elements, including the search screen, north arrow, speed limit,

This did not clear for the rest of the one hour journey. I tried rebooting the Infotainment system but that did not fix it.

On the next trip, several hours later the same situation applied - everything worked ok except no map in the centre console.

Yet on the next trip, ten minutes later, it started working again.

Had this issue myself prior to the software update not since but I still get the popping sound occasionally and the car dials sos then reverts to normal a few minutes later.

My software is on 1803 which is fairly up-to-date and my Infotainment control unit has been replaced.

We do not have online features, such as SOS, here but I often get a popping noise from the dashboard in the first minute after starting.
