Making a Citigo vrs, up gti conversion any interest

Featured Replies

Any interest in me doing a build thread on here for my conversion of a citigo to up gti running gear? I know there’s not a lot of traffic in here anymore. But if a few people are genuinely interested I will start one. I know a lot of people ask about it but generally don’t go any further, I only know of one other running a gti engine but with original box, and no citigos as far as I’m aware, obviously with the exception of a few bigger engines going in them

I'd be interested for sure. I let my Citigo sport go in 2016, but have just bought a 17 plate Monte Carlo for my niece and forgotten just how much fun it was to drive. Would definitely read your thread.

Great idea, but you'll get far more ideas from the Up! owners forum.

And don't forget GTI's have bigger front disks.

An alternative is to get the TSi engine and change the map.

Do it. You'll probably pull some traffic in here (like me, funnily enough).

Cheers for reply’s guys, just for info I’ve done many conversions before, this will basically be a citigo body with up gti everything else bar seats and wheels :) I’ve already purchased a smashed up gti 😜, and I’ve had the citigo a couple of months now

No I haven't misread, I'm just saying that this site is practically dead, while the Up! site is far bigger and more far more lively and knowledgeable, and welcomes Mii and Citigo owners. It is also better coded.  Most contributors there seem to have GTis and many of them are into modding, and some work as techs or parts guys VW dealerships...  You may find it more interesting to hang out there, and they will like to read about your upgrade - this site seems to have become, of late, mostly about how to change fuses or fix water leaks - which is fine, if course.
