Hi ive just brought a 2007 fabia estate but not sure if its a mki or mk2 .First registered on 14/08/2007 on log book it says its a fabia classic 12v htp 1198 cc bme engine ? anyone shed light thanks

Look at the 7th and 8th characters of the VIN.

6Y=mk1

5J=mk2

Pretty sure you'll find 6Y, as I don't think BME engine featured in mk2.

Glad you've figured out which car it is. If it helps, pre-facelift Mk2 models adopted a number trim level system "1, 2, 3" as opposed to the conventional "Classic, Comfort/Ambiente, Elegance" of the Mk1.

 

I usually use that as a general indicator for cars for sale on AutoTrader without photographs.
