As stated guys what's folks views, good and bad, mileage ect... Basicly I'm after a mk2 and see the DSG ones advertised ect... From what I hear alot of folk love the driving experience from them but do they go problematic higher up the mileage ect??? Help 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

6 speed wet clutch DSG's as fitted to 2.0 TSI or TDI have not any common issues if serviced correctly with 40,000 mile or sooner oil change intervals.

7 Speed Twin Dry Clutch DSG as fitted to 1.2,1.4,1.8 TSI's or 1.6 TDI's on mk2 2's can be less reliable and could have been part of Service Campaigns started in 2014 on different Skoda / VW vehicles including Mk2 Octavias covering 2009-2012 cars or in 2017 on 2013-2015 cars.

Cheers for the info mate 👍 basicly got my eye on a diesel vrs so obv the tdi so not any overly common faults if looked after?

mines got over 170k on clock, dsg service was well overdue, it was over 52k before i got dsg serviced,  still feels same as before service,

i tested launch control couple of times and once a month i take it for a good blast

my mates got a gtd with 60k, my dsg feels exactly the same as his, so smooth
