LPG Intro video

Featured Replies

Well, the sun came out a bit down here so thought I'd nip out with the camera for a little guide to the LPG system. :) Enjoy - 10mb video.

I'd advise users to keep this video safe - possibly the last images of Jason's car you'll ever get :D

nobody can usually see the rear of it anyway due to the smoke out the back:D

Dont go checking for gas leaks with a lighter!!

Looking good, Jase! When do you reckon you'll be testing it?

When I get some gas in the tank. :)

It's been nice knowing you Jason ;)

I love the securing arrangement on the 'Go Buttons' Jason.

Is that as per the instructions or one than you designed yourself - Perhaps a patent would be in order :P

COUGH! "temporary" - note the flappy LED gauge as well!

Mr Z - Its been emotional.

As I'm going down the same road (just done by a fitter rather than myself :o ) I can say that it's hopefully NOT the last time we see Jason :P

Thanks for the vids, I may actually show it to 'the fitter' - the location for the filler looks good too

I didnt realise the high(ish) pressure regulator had to be at the front of the car, it has to be as you need to keep the gas in liquid form in the pipe.

This is also why it's so important to get the right type of pipes, 200 psi tank pressure, not sure what the pressure is between the tank & the pressure regulator at the front but it's still gonna be pretty high.

Looking forward to that bracket at the front, admittedly it doesn't look like it will move much if at all, does the engine clear it when it moves though?

Not technically correct mr WW I believe. The take off on the tank has to be in vapour form, which is why it takes it off the top (you can never fill any lpg tank more than about 80% anyway) - so its still the same pressure but its gas in the pipe from the tank to the first regulator, not liquid. Its pretty essential that liquid never gets in to the pipes and the powershot system as that could be pretty nasty. ;)

Fair enough  - that's kinda why I dont do this myself :o

Thanks for the all effort which you have taken, Jason.

Much appreciated and very interesting!
