Swing stereo upgrade

Featured Replies

Hi. I have read, on here,  that you can swap the swing stereo for an Amunsden with Bluetooth and satnav. Has anyone done this and is it really that straight forward? Or is there anything I need to be aware of? Many thanks. The car is a 63 plate 1.6 diesel fabia estate if this matters.

It's in the guides section somewhere. Or just Do a search 👍

I have tried, I am new here, but will try again. 👍

Here is a quote from another thread

Go on www.carsystems.

pl I have retrofitted bluetooth to my octavia vrs & my wife's yeti, buying both modules from them. They supply the original skoda bluetooth units so you have full function with maxidot & mfsw if you have them. Simple to fit & if you email them to ask any questions you have re compatibility etc they are very helpful. https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/288897-bluetooth-retrofit-to-yeti-se-with-amundsen/?do=findComment&comment=3427642

Many thanks Cocain. Lots to peruse and mull over. Not as straight a swap as I first thought.

it is with the kit you posted.

I assume thats what I linked on the other thread.

It is plug and play, everything is in that kit.

All thats needed after is to code the car telling it Sat nav etc is fitted in the can gateway.

UrbanPanzer yes it is and you have just answered my question 👍 now to take the plunge and spend the money. I presume I need the VW/Skoda software to tell the can network about the Sat nav etc? A friend is hopefully able to do this if so.

Thank you 😁👍

VCDS/VAG-COM I imagine. There's an owner's map too.

Hope this helps. :)

I'm not close to you, about 90 miles away but would happily code as required if needed, obviously you would have to travel to me.

PS I think it has.........................BUT not all of these RNS units have bluetooth built in (which means you would need the additional module etc), why I don't know...............Anyway....what I would advise BEFORE purchasing regarding the one you linked above is ask the seller for a picture of the RIGHT hand side of the unit when looking at it.

This is where the part number sticker is and where the MAC address is shown, you need to see if the MAC address is populated with letters and numbers NOT 0's.

should be like below with Bluetooth.
